At 78, Dolly Parton stirs debate in leggy “zebra” outfit – and fans notice detail on her knee

It’s fair to say Dolly Parton has never been a stranger to the spotlight. For decades the country music icon has dazzled with her looks and talent, and it’s fair to say her self-confidence is a trait to be envied.

Put simply, Dolly isn’t one to shy away from the cameras, and her fans have gotten used to seeing her flaunt all manner of looks over the years. In fact, the 78 once revealed that she tries to stay glammed up around the clock, in case she ever has to be taken to hospital without warning.

Having recently released her debut rock album, Rockstar, Dolly’s found herself in the headlines of late – though realistically, when is she not – and there’s one outfit in particular that generated a lot of buzz online.

Dolly Parton and flashy outfits go together something like salt and pepper. That is to say that they’re considered the norm, and fans are always ready to weigh in whenever the Queen of Country makes an appearance punctuated by a bold fashion choice.

Well, it’s that time again, apparently, after the 78-year-old sported a leggy “zebra” outfit in a post on her Instagram page.

The outfit in question saw Dolly wearing knee-high zebra patterned boots, as well as a zebra-themed dress. Much of the singer’s toned legs were on show, with a number of commenters focusing on her knee.

“Fabulous, but what’s with left knee [sic]?” one person wrote.

Another added: “Doesn’t look like something Dolly would wear.”

For the most part fans expressed their support for Dolly’s post, which she captioned “They say if you can dream it, you can have it.”

“On fire, Miss Dolly! rock on,” one fan wrote.

“Get it Auntie Dolly!!!!” said another.

A third added: “I love your outfit and you look amazing in it. But what I can’t believe is how beautiful your knees look my Lord girl your knees look amazing.“

A fourth said: “You look freaking stunning in that outfit😍“

Parton recently gave her blessing for Beyoncé’s cover of Jolene, in spite of criticism from some quarters that ‘Queen Bey’ shouldn’t be dabbling in the genre. The track features on Beyoncé’s first venture into country music, coming in the form of her new album, Cowboy Carter.

“Listen to my original ‘Jolene’ while you wait for @Beyonce’s COWBOY CARTER – Dolly P,” Parton wrote in a tweet Wednesday evening.
