My name is Frank Delgado and I am fifty two years old. Eleven years ago I opened a diner named Rosie after my late mother to honor her memory and her lifelong rule that nobody should ever leave hungry. I kept a glass charity jar by the register to pay for anyone who could not afford their meal and our community thrived for years. Eighteen months ago I opened a second restaurant location and hired a young corporate manager named Kyle Brenner to run my original diner. Kyle sent me wonderful financial reports every week but soon my most loyal older regulars mysteriously stopped coming in for their meals. My longtime cook Luis Ortega confessed to me that Kyle had removed my mothers charity jar during his first month and was turning away anyone who looked poor. Luis explained that the arrogant new staff was treating our struggling customers terribly while I was busy working at the new location. I realized I had completely lost touch with the diner I built and I needed to see what was happening with my own eyes.
I decided to secretly test my staff by disguising myself as a homeless man wearing cheap thrift store clothes and rubbing garden dirt on my hands. I walked into my own restaurant at noon with only four crumpled dollars in my pocket and politely asked for a bowl of warm soup. The new hostess Madison looked at me with absolute disgust and immediately tried to kick me out despite the dining room being completely empty near the front windows. Before I could leave a compassionate young waitress named Amber intervened and kindly guided me to a beautiful table right by the front window. She brought me a steaming bowl of my mothers famous chicken and dumpling soup and quietly insisted on paying for my meal out of her own pocket because someone had once done the same for her during hard times. I was deeply moved by her incredible kindness until Kyle stormed out of the kitchen and caused a massive scene in front of all the regular lunch customers. He loudly berated Amber for feeding me and aggressively grabbed my arm before violently shoving me out the glass front door and onto the hard concrete sidewalk.
As Kyle forcefully pushed me toward the exit I stumbled near the front counter and clearly witnessed Madison secretly swiping an elderly customers credit card through a hidden black skimming device. Suddenly the mysterious disappearance of my loyal older regulars made perfect sense because my management team was running an elaborate credit card theft operation right under my mothers photograph. I waited outside on the sidewalk and used my cellular phone to record Madison stealing from another paying customer through the front window. Amber came outside with a paper bag to check on my injuries and give me the rest of my food but Kyle quickly followed her and physically assaulted both of us on the street. I immediately pulled out my phone to call the police dispatch and finally revealed my true identity as the actual owner of the restaurant. Kyle tried to run back inside to hide the criminal evidence but I chased him and forced Madison to leave the illegal skimming device on the counter for the authorities. The local police arrived minutes later and arrested them both after finding multiple skimming machines and a spiral notebook filled with hundreds of stolen credit card numbers hidden inside Kyles office desk.
