Like hundreds of other celebrities and public figures, Jennifer Lopez graced the red carpet at The Metropolitan Museum of Art for this year’s Met Gala, which occurs during the first Monday in May.
The 54-year-old singer, known for her iconic fashion moments, stunned in a custom Schiaparelli Haute Couture mermaid-style gown crafted from sheer tulle, adorned with shimmering rhinestones and pearls, and finished with a dramatic train.
According to a press release from the fashion brand, the intricately embellished dress boasted an impressive 2,500,000 silver foil bugles and beads, showcasing 800 hours of meticulous hand embroidery, per Who What Wear.
Lopez accessorized with a statement Tiffany & Co. necklace, boasting over 75 carats of diamonds, including a remarkable 20-carat centerpiece. In total, she was sporting more than 100 carats of Tiffany & Co. diamonds, complementing the opulence of her gown.

The ‘Jenny From The Block‘ added matching earrings, a bracelet, and platform Andrea Wazen heels, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Her hair was elegantly styled in a high bun, perfectly complementing her glowing, bronzed makeup.
While her ensemble didn’t directly align with the event’s theme, “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” her diamond hummingbird-shaped necklace added a touch of nature-inspired elegance to the evening.
Alongside Zendaya, Bad Bunny, and Chris Hemsworth, Lopez was one of the Met Gala’s co-chairs.
However, despite her stunning appearance, social media users took to Vogue Magazine’s Instagram post to voice their critiques, especially due to her slimmer-looking frame.
“Oh… Ozempic. Is that you?” one user wrote, while another criticized her makeup, adding: “I like the dress but not the makeup, she looks tired.”
The negativity continued with remarks like: “Too much Ozempic?” and “Why does she look… dusty? Her hair color looks dull and drab, and her skin looks washed out. This is disappointing.”
Further statements centered around Lopez’s hair continued, with one person asking: “Did her hairdresser call in sick?”
