There is a seventh cousin relationship between Dolly Parton and Miley Cyrus, once removed! An ancestor named John Brickey, who was born in Virginia in the year 1740, is their shared ancestor, according to a statement from Ancestry.

“He later moved to Blount County, Tennessee with his wife and children and remained there until his loss in 1806,” the business wrote of Brickey. “He passed away after a long retirement.” In the late 1600s, members of the Brickey family made their way to the United States from France, where they had originally originated. At the time, Dolly Parton, who is 78 years old, was promoting her new cookbook, Good Lookin’ Cookin, which was written in collaboration with her sister, Rachel, on Access Hollywood.

At the very least, I would have expected that we would be third cousins, ten times removed from each other.
