Concert Halted After Alan Jackson Tells Fans To ‘Climb Over The Fences’

fyou’ve ever been to a live concert, you already realize that it can be a very exciting event. You are there to see somebody that you enjoy and perhaps you have been singing their music for quite some time.

There is often a good atmosphere at these concerts but sometimes, they can get out of hand. It can even be the fault of the singer at times, and such was the case in Georgetown, Texas.

The event was taking place on April 5 at the To Step in Festival. That Festival was in full swing and Alan Jackson was headlining the particular set. Because of a decision that he made, the concert had to be halted temporarily.

The audience was absolutely packed and they were pressing in on the stage. They had fences in place to help keep the audience in check, but Jackson was telling them to ‘climb over them fences’.

People were getting so out of hand because of his suggestion that they broke the rules and they had to shut down the event temporarily. Security was there to regain control of the situation, and the show was able to continue shortly after.

Jackson is known by millions of people around the world and has sung some of the most iconic country music songs in the past couple of decades. In this particular case, it was his first time at the festival and he is preparing to retire.

He must’ve been excited, as he was singing the song ‘Good Time’ and there was a lot of energy in the crowd. When Alan decided that it was the right moment to tell fans to ‘climb over them fences and dance up and down these aisles’ he told people he didn’t care and just wanted them to have a good time.

Fans took him at face value and started climbing the fences and rushing the stage. The organizers of the event stepped in along with security and they cut off the microphone so the show was shut down temporarily. People calmed down quickly.

Of course, not everybody was on board with jumping the fence right away but Alan Jackson continued to encourage them to jump it. Once somebody started over the fence, they were all over the barricades and they quickly overwhelmed security.

After the brief pause, he came back on the stage to apologize and tell them that he just wanted them to have a good time. People seemed to appreciate his honesty.

After he wrapped up the song, event organizers stopped the show for about five or six minutes to get fans out of the restricted area near the stage. Many in the crowd were having fun and were not very happy about it, but I guess they wanted to be on the safe side.
