Eight years have passed since Celine Dion mourned the loss of her beloved husband and manager, René Angélil. Yet, the renowned songstress has unequivocally stated that she’s not ready to move forward.
Despite being subjected to persistent rumors surrounding her romantic life, which is common for celebrities of her caliber, Dion remains steadfastly devoted to the memory of her only true love.
The bond between Dion and Angélil has origins as unique as their enduring love story. Their paths first crossed when Dion was a mere 12 years old, with Angélil, 26 years her senior, assuming a pivotal role as her manager. Reports even suggest he went as far as remortgaging his own home to support her journey to stardom.
And a star she unquestionably became. Dion herself has acknowledged Angélil’s indispensable influence on her success; he was the visionary behind her meteoric rise, sculpting her into one of the most revered vocalists of her time.
As Dion’s career soared to unprecedented heights, her feelings for her manager deepened. In her memoir, “Celine Dion: My Story, My Dream,” she candidly confessed, “I never dared to tell him that I dreamt of him every night.”
In April 1988, Dion finally found the courage to express her affection to Angélil. “I threw myself into his arms. Later that night, I was seated at the head of the bed, legs folded under the covers. I was happy about being alone with the man I loved,” she penned, reminiscing about that pivotal moment.

Four years following, Dion and Angélil publicly embraced their romance, culminating in a lavish wedding ceremony in 1994.
Tragically, Angélil was diagnosed with throat cancer in 1999, marking the beginning of a courageous battle that lasted nearly two decades until his passing in 2016. His departure naturally created a void in Dion’s life that could never be adequately filled. The songstress herself has been unequivocal about her stance on love.
“I don’t date. I don’t have a boyfriend,” she asserted in an interview with USA Today.
“This doesn’t mean that I won’t find someone in my life. If I do, that would be great. If I don’t, that would be great too, because I’m still in love.”
Dion further elaborated, “René is still a part of me. I see him through the eyes of my children every day. I’m deeply passionate about life, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have my three beautiful sons. Yet, I keep myself open to all possibilities.”

Despite recent speculation surrounding Celine Dion’s romantic life, particularly concerning a younger companion whom she has been seen with publicly on numerous occasions, the iconic singer has adamantly refuted any rumors of a newfound love interest.
Dion’s close bond with this individual has fueled speculation about the nature of their relationship. However, the 56-year-old, currently contending with Stiff Person Syndrome, has been clear in her assertions. She clarified that the man in question, Pepe Muñoz, is a trusted confidante and dear friend.
In 2022, Dion emphasized Muñoz’s significance in her life, stating, “He’s my best friend.” She further elucidated that Muñoz is openly gay and joined her team as a backup dancer in 2017.
“He did so much for me, even just holding my hand,” Dion expressed. “It’s something that I haven’t had for a long time, a hug from a 6’3’’ man… It was wonderful.”
