All of Madonna’s family members are in a state of sadness after her stepmother passed away.
The obituary for the “Like a Virgin” singer states that Joan Ciccone, the singer’s stepmother, passed away on Tuesday after a long and courageous fight against a particularly severe form of cancer.
Joan worked as Madonna’s housekeeper while she was growing up in Michigan. A couple of years after Madonna’s mother passed away at the age of 30 from cancer, Joan married Silvio Ciccone, Madonna’s father.
In their relationship, Joan and Silvio were blessed with two children: Jennifer, Madonna’s half-sister, and Mario, Madonna’s half-brother.
She has made appearances in a few documentaries on Madonna, such as “I’m Going to Tell You a Secret” and an episode of the television show “Biography.”
Along the same lines as Madonna, Joan was born and reared in the state of Michigan. When she had a large number of children at home with Silvio, she founded a daycare and managed it for twenty years.
They established and run Ciccone Vineyard and Winery in Michigan, which is where Joan and Madonna’s father got their start in the wine industry from the beginning. Joan was responsible for planting the vines, harvesting the grapes, and preparing food for events held in the tasting room. In addition to that, she had a strong interest in antiques and fashion.
The “enthusiasm, joy, and love” that Madonna’s stepmother once had is what her loved ones remember most about her.
