My Secret for Keeping My Husband Smiling: Soft & Sweet Baked Apple Fritters 🍎

Posted on October 26, 2025 By Andrew Wright

I’ll let you in on a little secret — whenever I want to brighten my husband’s day, I make these Baked Apple Fritters. He’s absolutely obsessed with them. They fill the house with the smell of cinnamon and apples, and by the time they come out of the oven, he’s already waiting by the kitchen counter with that big grin on his face.

They’re soft, fluffy, and full of warm apple chunks, with just the right touch of sweetness from a simple vanilla glaze. The best part? They’re baked, not fried, so there’s no messy oil splatter — just golden perfection straight from the oven.

🍏 Baked Apple Fritters Recipe

Ingredients

For the Fritters:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ÂĽ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups diced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work beautifully)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

For the Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2–3 tablespoons milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

👩‍🍳 Instructions

Step 1: Prep the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2: Mix the Batter
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
In another bowl, combine milk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture and stir until just combined — don’t overmix!

Step 3: Add the Apples
Fold in the diced apples and melted butter until everything is evenly mixed.

Step 4: Bake to Perfection
Scoop spoonfuls of batter onto the baking sheet, shaping them into small mounds.
Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.

Step 5: Make the Glaze
While they bake, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.

Step 6: Glaze & Enjoy
Let the fritters cool for 5 minutes, then drizzle the glaze over the top. Serve warm and enjoy every sweet, cinnamon-scented bite.
