A man and a woman were married for many years

An elderly couple, known in their neighborhood for constant bickering and playful threats, had a particularly memorable running joke:

“When I di*,” the husband would often declare, “I’ll dig my way out of the grave and haunt you for the rest of your life!”

Years passed, and at 98, he finally did pass away. At the funeral, a concerned neighbor leaned in and asked the widow, “Aren’t you worried he might come back to haunt you?”

With a sly smile and perfect comedic timing, she replied:

“Let him try. I had him buried upside down—he’ll never ask for directions.”

And just like that, she delivered one final joke on behalf of the both of them — sealing a lifetime of humor with the perfect punchline.
