I Refused to Attend My Son’s Wedding And Instead Spent the Day With His Ex-Wife

Posted on April 16, 2025 By Andrew Wright

Some experiences have even more unpredicted plot twists than some soap operas. In this article, we’ll collect one real story to control a mixture of emotions, including shame for her 25-year-old son’s behavior. It took a lot of audacity for the mother to make a hard decision.

Here’s story:
My 25-year-old son tied the knot with a 23-year-old girl, Tina. Everything was fine at first.
They even welcomed a baby, but then my DIL started to mention occasionally his infidelity as if it was nothing. Turns out he had chea:ted on her multiple times, and she even had proof of that. I was so embarrassed, to say the least, because that’s not how I brought up my son.

Tina would forgive him, to my surprise, even though I told her to divorce him if she wanted to.
Some time later, my son decided to file for divorce because he’d found another woman. Now Tina is struggling with a 1-year-old baby and has to support herself on her own.

My son called me and invited us to his wedding. I asked him why he had chea:ted on Tina. He laughed and said, “Well, Tina is great, but I deserve someone better.” I was sh0cked and angry, and I hung up immediately.

On our son’s wedding day, I went to Tina’s house.
She was renting a very small and old room, the baby was crying on the sofa, and she looked extremely tired. I gave her a helping hand with household chores and took care of the baby. I told her to take some rest. I also brought along some cookies and cake.

My son called me and asked me where my husband and I were. I replied, “I’m at your ex-wife’s house. You’re a terrible husband, and I’m ashamed of you.” My son got angry, and now he won’t talk to us. Maybe I overreacted after all.
